Who I Am
Dr. Patrick Dunphy began his career in education in 2006 and is certified in Social Studies, Special Education, and School Leadership. He first taught in both Social Studies and Special Education before moving into school leadership, serving as an Assistant Principal in Social Studies and currently as District Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE). His doctoral dissertation, CTE as Affinity Spaces: Perspectives from Students With and Without Special Needs, reflects his enduring interest in the learning environment and all the ways it can be designed to meet student needs. Dr. Dunphy has since been dedicated to expanding opportunities for students, presenting at the 2024 ACTE Region I Conference and being recognized as “Administrator of the Year” by the New York State Association of Career and Technical Education. He currently serves as Director of CTE for the Sewanhaka Central High School District and as a Board Trustee for the Carle Place School District. He continues to champion innovative programs that prepare students for success in college, careers, and beyond.
